SAN EXEQUIEL MORENO PARISH was erected mainly to attend to the spiritual and physical needs of people from Labahita and Langaray. Today’s parish started out of a simple chapel, which also served as a livelihood training center. It was under the supervision of then Blessed Lorenzo Ruiz Parish, which has its parish priest in the person of Reverend Fr. Edgardo Merin.
On December of 1984, Reverend Fr. Meria Giovanni Tardetti, a Somascan priest, arrived from Italy, and stayed in the livelihood center for a year. Then, on June 1, 1985, Dominican Fathers arrived under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Reynaldo Adalid, OP, who later on became the parish priest of the Blessed Lorenzo Ruiz National Shrine and Livelihood Center. Rev. Fr Romeo Asuzano, OP, became the Rector of the Shrine while Rev. Fr. Jesse Lorete and Brother Bonifacio Mergal, OP, managed the livelihood center.
In 1992, two years after the canonization of San Lorenzo Ruiz, Fr. Adalid petitioned for the establishment of the chapel/ livelihood center as a parish. It was in November 1, 1992 that San Lorenzo Ruiz Chapel was Erected into a parish and was thus named as San Exequiel Moreno Parish. The first Parish Priest was Rev. Fr. Ronaldo “Boyet” Pedroso and was succeeded by Rev. Fr. Elpidio A. Erlano, Jr. in May 2013.

The zeal of Brother Ezequiel overflows on his first mission, which is about preaching, teaching and building. His work with the expedition is heroic, but the effort produced a terrible consequence of obtaining malaria, forcing him to return to Manila.
His willingness and zeal manifested in countless ways: as a pastor, catechist in Manila, and later on as the administrator of an estate. Although he held a high position, he was still close to ordinary Filipinos, calling him “the santulón”, or the holy man.
